Program Summary:  Jim Skelly, President of Cybershield, will discuss conductive coatings that can be applied to plastic enclosures to provide the RF shielding to comply with EMI regulations and ensure reliable device performance with robust shielding systems.  In addition to reviewing shielding effectiveness of many conductive coatings systems, the presentation will include information on the design considerations for cost effective utilization of conductive coatings in electronic devices and the use of 3D circuits embedded on plastic molded parts to produce functional circuitry and antennas.  Also, the presentation will include a review of several current production applications and the impact of new global environmental standards, Reduction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) and Waste in Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) on metallized plastic systems.
