Program Summary:  The presentation addresses one the problems experienced in making emission measurements above 1 GHz. The increasing noise floor with frequency of the instrumentation reduces the margin between the emission limit and the requirement of ANSI C63.4 for a noise floor 6 dB below the limit.

Our Speaker:  Mr. Wes Atchison received an Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology from University of Texas in Arlington in 1972 (last year of the 2 year program at UTA) and has worked the power generation, oil field service, semiconductor, networking equipment, EMC test lab and telecom industries.

He solved his first professional EMC problem in 1980 working on a Z80 microprocessor based system.  His work has focused on EMC compliance since 1989 and he is currently employed by Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd as a Compliance Specialist.

He received his NARTE EMC Engineer certification in 2000.

He is the co-owner of a patent on EMC card cage design and his hobbies are Amateur Radio and Amateur Astronomy.
