The Senior Compliance Engineer is responsible for minimizing risk to the organization associated with product design and realization efforts and ensures robust medical device product designs under governing domestic and international requirements. This position ensures and helps maintain Compliance vigilance across the R&D organization in compliance with applicable ISO, AAMI, EN, FDA, FCC, CSA standards and serves as the focal point for defining Compliance activities within the R&D organization. This position helps define, interpret, and/or ensure the use of, and compliance to, appropriate test standards and regulatory requirements that apply to R&D.

The Program Director (Standards Compliance) position manages the development process of a specific portfolio of products, including direct supervision of Program Managers responsible for managing the projects associated with that portfolio. The Standards Compliance Director is responsible for minimizing risk to the organization associated with pre and post production efforts under governing requirements related to the intended market(s) for the product. This position will be responsible for:

  • Reading, interpreting and following EMC test specifications
  • Creating test plans
  • Hands-on execution of EMC tests
  • Writing and reviewing test reports
  • Attending customer meetings and EMC conferences
  • Performing other work as required

    The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in electrical engineering of physics
  • 5+ years experience in an EMC test lab with 2+ years directly related engineering experience
  • Prior project management experience required
  • Working knowledge of the TILE! EMC test automation tool a major plus
  • Must possess electrical background
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organization and time management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with ever changing priorities
  • Must be detail-oriented
  • Must be flexible and willing to work various shifts as business needs dictate, sometimes resulting in an irregular schedule
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
  • Ability to make technical decisions and engineering judgments independently within established parameters
  • Ability to travel as business needs dictate
